You will know He is as you desire to spend time with HIM in reading His word and prayer-talking and listening to what He would have you do. This alone has the power to change your life, your marriage, the climate/attitude in your home, your children and their attitudes, but it requires you to submit to HIM fully and allow HIM full access to your heart first… HE must be FIRST!!!

Is it really January?

As I sat down to recap 2011 it became clear that it is almost February and the first month of 2012 is over! How? Where did 2011 go and now, where did January go? I really think it is true that the older you get the faster time passes…

I learned an important lesson Christmas. That lesson is that you can do to much for someone else. Even though it seems like a loving effort, too much, is too much. I watch our precious 2 year old Sterling in sensory over load on Christmas morning. She finished opening her gifts on December 27th. Really, she open gifts through out the day on Christmas. Then again on Monday and finished on Tuesday evening… So how much is enough? Everyone is different, but for a two year old, less is best! She was overwhelmed before she began to open anything. Next year, I think we will cut back and enjoy watching her play with a couple of things-instead of waiting to watch her open a small mountain. What a blessing just being with her on Christmas and together with our son’s and daughter-in-law. What more does anyone really need!

As far as the rest of 2011, what a year it was. It began with a storm (health) and ended on a much better note! Feeling great and looking to 2012 with great hope and anticipation. What will God unveil for us? Only this time 2013 will tell the story!

Have a great year and serve Him well. Look and wait for opportunities to bless someone!

Pinecones & Prayers

Our Pinecones & Prayers tree is already full of special blessings.

Through the holiday season, this tree stands in the store as a reminder to pray for all those in our lives who have experienced cancer.

Come place a pinecone on the tree with the name of someone dear to your heart and a ribbon signifying their type of cancer.

For each pinecone placed on the tree, Sterling Grace will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society of Smith County. There is also a donation box set up in the store that will go directly to ACS as well.

If you can’t drop by the store, email someone’s name to info@sterlinggracejewelry.com and we’ll place your pinecone on the tree for you.

The Prayer Warriors of Sterling Grace will also be praying for your loved one during this holiday season.
