As I sat down to recap 2011 it became clear that it is almost February and the first month of 2012 is over!  How?  Where did 2011 go and now, where did January go?  I really think it is true that the older you get the faster time passes…

I learned an important lesson Christmas.  That lesson is that you can do to much for someone else.  Even though it seems like a loving effort, too much, is too much.  I watch our precious 2 year old Sterling in sensory over load on Christmas morning.  She finished opening her gifts on December 27th.  Really, she open gifts through out the day on Christmas.  Then again on Monday and finished on Tuesday evening…  So how much is enough?  Everyone is different, but for a two year old, less is best!  She was overwhelmed before she began to open anything.  Next year, I think we will cut back and enjoy watching her play with a couple of things-instead of waiting to watch her open a small mountain.   What a blessing just being with her on Christmas and together with our son’s and daughter-in-law.  What more does anyone really need!

As far as the rest of 2011, what a year it was.  It began with a storm (health) and ended on a much better note!   Feeling great and looking to 2012 with great hope and anticipation.   What will God unveil for us?  Only this time 2013 will tell the story!
