For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

God ordained marriage in the Garden of Eden between Adam and Eve.

…He who created them from the beginning made them Male and Female.

Matthew 19:4

Marriage is a legal union between a man and a woman for life. It is a commitment to join their lives together and create a bond that no one can separate.

“Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.

Matthew 19:6

The character of Christ is uncompromising. His love for us is unconditional. His love is never based on our performance or His emotions. His love for us is based on a covenant promise/ commitment to us. Base your vows of commitment to each before God and witnesses, following Christ’ example. Strive to make the other happy, Never trying to change or impart holiness on the other. This will lead to frustration. God is not the author of confusion or frustration. Love each other with all your heart and trust God to make the changes. Never compromise your character or integrity for emotions. Always honor your “promise and commitment” one to another.

Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.
