Star of Bethlehem
SYMBOLIZES BIRTH PLACE OF HOPE
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."
Matthew 2:1NIV
Bethlehem means “ House of Bread” and “Birthplace of Hope.”
This star, in the form of a cross represents Jesus and His birthplace, Bethlehem. The star in the center of the cross symbolizes the announcement to the world the birth of our King.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11NIV
The star elongated into the form of a cross, is that while it represents the birth and birthplace of Jesus it also represents His death and the fulfillment of prophecy.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
