Cornerstone on Cross
SYMBOLIZES CHRIST THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE
"He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation upon the rock and when a flood rose, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been built well."
Luke 6:48 NAS
As Christians we too will experience troubled times. We were warned that afflictions will come but not overtake us. This is made possible through Jesus, our chief cornerstone upon which all is built. When times of trial, trouble and hardship arise we may tremble, but in Him we can stand firm and not crumble. Our strength is in our Lord.
"Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone."
Ephesians 2:20 NAS
The cornerstone symbolizes our need and dependence upon Jesus for everything. He is to be the foundation of our lives, families, friendship, churches, communities, and country.
In whom the whole building, being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in the Lord.
Ephesians 2:21 NAS
Therefore thus says the Lord God, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a Stone, a tested stone, a costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed."
Isaiah 28:16 NAS
